Bryggen Penthouse I NEW 2021! I w/ Free Parking!

We were very happy and impressed when we checked in we had an unpleasant experience with a staff member but other than t Positive: Amazing location and beautiful penthouse. Very modern and comfortable. Easy to access and has useful resources. Negative: Very difficult to heat up and cold in the night. If you are planning on going in the freezing temperatures, make sure you are prepared to be cold. Could have appreciated some extra blankets to be provided as the duvets weren’t enough to keep us warm. One factor that ruined it for us was a man banging at our door very very loudly in the evening. We were 3 sisters and we were very scared being in a foreign country. He was banging for around 5 mins and when we finally did answer, we came across a very rude man telling us to leave our shoes downstairs. He came across very angry and was basically shouting at us. We told him that we would rather keep our shoes upstairs where we can see them. This could have been communicated to us in a much better manner i.e a message or text. However, this approach was very unnecessary and really scared us. We were anxious for the rest of our stay and didn’t feel comfortable. It’s a very unpleasant feeling especially being 3 girls on our own in a foreign country. I hope that this review is taken into consideration and this isn’t done to other people.

Designer style and comfy Positive: Easy checkin/checkout. Clean and comfy with all the things you need in the kitchen and bathroom. The host was proactive and I got all the information I needed. Negative: The blinds were a bit makeshift. And it was quite hot until I turned the heaters off at the wall.

We really liked the penthouse and the location, and overall had a good stay — even if some of the rules and quirks gave Positive: • Very close to the city center • Modern design • Washing machine in the penthouse • Fully equipped kitchen (a Nespresso machine would be a nice addition) • Large flat-screen TV Negative: The Less Good: • Rules, rules, rules – only shared after booking. A few highlights: • Shoes off, always • No washing after 9 PM • Keep heating/AC low • Don’t move furniture or decor • Inform host if guests are coming • Start the dishwasher before checkout What Could Be Improved: • While the design is modern, much of it is made from plywood – more speed-build than craftsmanship. A 5-star rating calls for a 5-star finish. • Only one window door opens, and the only other window is in the bathroom. Not ideal for ventilation, although the is passive ventilation • No parking at the penthouse. While there are public options nearby, loading and unloading luggage in this narrow street is quite stressful. • Advertised as a one-bedroom, but in reality it’s a spacious kitchen and living room, where up to four people are expected to sleep. • Sleep quality: hard to darken the space properly – bring an eye mask! • Windows were not clean upon arrival. A Note on Communication: The “owner” (actually a professional company, as stated on the booking platform) kindly asks guests to get in touch before leaving less than 5 stars. That’s appreciated, but it would be even better if the place itself met that standard without needing a disclaimer.
