Experience Norway's History I With Free Parking

Positive: City centre apartment with parking, short walk into the main tourist areas, supermarket right next door. Plenty of space in the apartment and well equipped for a short break.

Good location, but poor communication, unreasonable parking and several practical shortcomings. Positive: The location is convenient. Most of Bergen city center and the main attractions are within walking distance, so we did not need to drive once we arrived. Negative: Our main issue was the parking arrangement and slow communication from the host, which affected the start of our stay. The property was advertised as “Experience Norway’s History I With Free Parking,” but it was not made clear in advance that only one car could be registered for free. We booked for six guests across two families with two vehicles, so this was unexpected. After arrival, we contacted the host at 19:18 to ask about registering or paying for the second car and followed up at 21:32, but only received a reply at 17:36 the next day, by which time we were already out. When we returned, the second car had received a parking fine. We were willing to pay the standard fee and would have registered it immediately if instructions had been provided in time. The host later acknowledged the delay, but it still caused unnecessary stress and cost. There were also several practical issues with the apartment. The entrance is difficult to find at the back of the building, and carrying luggage up the narrow staircase is tiring, especially with larger bags. Wi-Fi was acceptable in the living room but weak in the bedrooms. There is only one bathroom for the whole apartment, and the door had no working lock, which was uncomfortable for two families sharing the space. The interior felt somewhat dated and was not properly cleaned on arrival, as we even found a dead fly. Kitchen equipment was limited compared to other stays, and the dining table faces the parking area rather than offering any particular view. Additionally, although previous reviews mentioned EV charging, we were informed on arrival that it is not actually permitted.

Positive: The apartment was clean, spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. The location was very convenient. It took about 15–20 minutes to walk to the city centre, and we hardly used public transport because everything was within a comfortable walking distance. Ole was a very welcoming host and checked in with us during our stay to make sure everything was okay and to ask if we needed anything. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this apartment. Negative: The only small suggestion would be to provide a key or lock for the bathroom door, as it couldn’t be locked. It wasn’t a problem for us, but it could make the stay more comfortable for other guests.

Loved the place and we would stay again if visiting Bergen Positive: This property is huge for a european apt. Absolutely loved the apartment. There were 3 of us but the apt can sleep upto 8 people. It had washer and dryer that cut down our packing by 50% If you are traveling out of Bergen for day trips, location is superb with access to the highway in less than a minute. Free parking. Host was very responsive, checked on us few times if needed anything. There is a small Bin priss grocery store close by. Negative: If your plans are focused on spending most of the time in the harbor area, it is 25-30 minutes walk that involve going over a short but fairly steep climb. There is a bus stop nearby but we did not use it. No coffee shop or restaurants in immediate vicinity. There is a port right across the apt which move shipping container to/from truck. The house is literally under the bridge. If you are a light sleeper, you may have problem sleeping. We slept well!!!

Positive: Fin villa med tre rum och storkök och badrum med toalett och dusch, 10-15 min att promenera till centrum. bra grattis parkering, incheckning med tydliga instruktionerna. Rekommenderas gärna till stor familj eller två familj.
